Abismo de Pasion

As I frantically bought and had goods delivered to the casa prior to the return trip to Texas, I was told over and over about how famous La Ermita was because of the novela being filmed there. I had one of the shop owners write down the name of the novela so I would be sure and remember it.

Fast forward another three months and imagine my delight when I discovered "Abismo de Pasion" on the television I don't own. I went back and started watching every episode. Not being a television owner nor watcher this was way out of character but I am addicted! I have justified watching a TV show by watching it on my computer. I knew it was filmed in La Ermita but I didn't know it was 90% filmed on our street. Hell...that's cool! What are the odds?! None of my family or friends think it is near as exciting as I do, but I think it's super exciting.

I watched every episode and let my eyes pan the background of scenes hoping for a glimpse of the casa. Finally, after patiently waiting and hoping, in episode 138, I saw it full on. Then I saw it again the next episode. I realized that filming is either still going on or happened recently because things we had done to the exterior of the casa since we left show up in the novela. My first glimpse of the house with the exterior improvements was seen on television.

Needless to say, my Spanish vocabulary has improved greatly. I know important words like "deceit" and "lies" and "pregnant" and "suspicion" and the list goes on. Move over "As the World Turns"....you can't hold a candle to ABISMO DE PASION.
